Santiago’s food scene ranges from fine dining to casual eateries with something for every type of traveler on any budget. In this list of best Santiago restaurants, I review my favorite places and we jump around from classic Chilean food to modern eateries. After this post, I hope you feel more confident about your choices so you can put all your attention into chowing down on some delicious food.

Best Chilean Restaurants In Santiago

First, let’s dive into Chilean food and what to expect from these restaurants. Here, I cover everything from essential sandwiches to Chilean classics. Chilean restaurants are usually cheap, and one of the best places to eat in Santiago if you want to keep costs to a minimum.

1. Na Que Ver – Best Cheap Restaurant In Santiago, Chile

Garlic Beef and Rice At Na Que Ver

Meaning “nothing to see,” Na Que Ver takes classic Chilean food and adds its own unique flavorful twists. The name signifies a back to basics approach, focusing on the key aspects of what makes food amazing. As one of the best restaurants in Santiago, I loved their no nonsense approach, making delicious home cooked meals at an affordable price.

My wife decided on the Garlic Beef and Rice which was simply prepared but packed with huge flavors. Although the beef was thin, the garlic slices added a nice punch so each bite held that strong garlic aroma. The rice tasted far from plain being cooked in some sort of stock giving a rich flavor that heightened the beef.

Charquican At Na Que Ver

I wanted to try a new Chilean dish, so I went with the Charquican which is a stew that combined beef, lots of potato, peas, corn, and carrots and came topped with a runny fried egg. Essentially a dish that’s made with a bunch of leftover ingredients you have in the fridge, and I LOVED it.

The beef and potatoes practically became one homogenous ingredient that imparted a deep flavor throughout the dish. With a dip of bread into the stew, I ate every bit of that enormous bowl leaning back in my chair with a warm, full belly.

2. Galindo – Best Restaurant In Santiago For Traditional Chilean Cuisine

Entrance to Galindo, one of the best restaurants in Bellavista, santiago
Entrance to Galindo

Galindo’s hand painted signs sucked me in, reminding me of the style I saw at the best restaurants in Buenos Aires. The colorful signs highlighted the featured dishes, giving me the urge to give them a shot.

Galindo specializes in classic Chilean food, which few restaurants do well in the party neighborhood of Bellavista. Despite the drunken crowds, Galindo stays true to proper traditional flavors.

Spicy Sausage and spicy mashed potatoes at Galindo
Spicy Sausage And Spicy Mashed Potatoes At Galindo

My wife chose the Spicy Pork Sausage with a side of spicy mashed potatoes. Although living up to the names, the sausage and the mashed potatoes gave enough heat to be noticed but stopped short of what I would consider “spicy.

I thought the sausage tasted awesome with nice chunks of spices and fat clearly seen in the middle. The sausage carried a nice unctuousness that the creaminess of mashed potatoes helped mellowed out.

Pastel de Choclo At Galindo
Pastel de Choclo At Galindo

For my dish, I decided on the Pastel de Choclo, a mashed corn pie loaded with meat and served in a hot stone bowl.

The Pastel de Choclo both amazed and confused; I have never eaten anything quite like it.  The corn mash itself dazzled with a play on sweet and savory but maintained a delicious complexity.

Under the baked corn lay a treasure trove of random ingredients like a pirate burying an assortment of delicious treasure in a single spot. I first discovered a whole chicken breast and minced beef. As I spooned my way through, I found a whole boiled egg and golden raisins sprinkled throughout.

Finally, two whole black olives made an appearance and somehow everything worked. This motley crew of ingredients formed a unique flavor profile that tasted AMAZING.

All the meat stayed tender and delicious with a slight pop of sweetness from the raisins and a sour punch from the black olives. I took the leftovers home and they reheated nicely. I imagine the rest of the dishes at Galindo are cooked with the same attention to detail as this.

3. Fuente Alemana – Best Lomito Sandwich In Santiago

The Chacarero Sandwich At Fuente Alemana

For the real deal Santiago Sandwich experience, look no further than Fuente Alemana, an institution of noble sandwiches that remains a favorite among locals.

I went with the Lomito, a sandwich made from thinly sliced marinated roasted pork. I ordered it Completo, which at Alemana means topped with house made sauerkraut, crushed tomatoes, and a jar of mayonnaise. Ok, maybe not that much mayo but enough to doubt my ability to finish the whole thing.

No, that’s not melted cheese on the sandwich, that’s mayo. Although I love me some mayonnaise, seeing gobs burst through the sides felt a bit too much. To my surprise, the quantity and quality of the mayo made the sandwich perfect.

The Lomito Sandwich At Fuente Alemana

The mayo in Santiago tasted different than the American counterpart, resembling more of an aioli. The characteristics of Chilean mayo lacked the customary sharp acid and eggy aftertaste, making larger quantities of mayo work well for this style of sandwich.

To me, the Lomito Completo peaked my culinary experience in Santiago giving me a divine sandwich that hit all the flavor notes of a food filled orchestra.

I know that sauerkraut sounds strange on a pork sandwich, but this kraut resembled more of a vinegar based coleslaw than an overly fermented cabbage. The sauerkraut added a crisp, clean feel that helped balance out the pork and mayo.

The crushed tomatoes played the most surprising role adding a sharp bitterness that worked cohesively with all the toppings. By themselves, the tomatoes tasted straight out of the can with a bitterness that pinched through my cheeks. With everything else on the sandwich, the tomatoes played an intricate role that showed the genius of the Chileans.

I can’t forget about the pork! Thinly sliced and piled on thick, the pork tasted beautiful with hints of herbs perfumed throughout. Despite the powerful toppings, the pork’s flavors remained dominant feeling like a truly epic pork sandwich.

4. Liguria – Best Cocktails In Santiago

The Bar At Liguria

More than just a bar, Liguria is a Santiago institution with a prideful history of slinging delicious drinks and remarkable food since its inception in 1990. Walking through Liguria is an adventure with three different levels all themed to amaze. Walk up the stairs and take your pick.

We stayed on the second floor and sat at the bar where the ceiling opened up about thirty feet overhead with a frosted skylight brightening up the bar. From the start of the day, we knew this would be a boozy meal. Liguria is arguably the best cocktail bar in the city, so we needed to see the mixology skills firsthand.

The Palma de Horcon And Queltehue At Liguria

I started off with the Palma de Horcon, which took Pisco Horcon, ginger, lemon, and palm honey and blended everything with ice, creating a sweet yet refreshing cocktail. Think of this as a Sidecar with a hint of ginger.

My wife ordered the Queltehue which blended Fangelico, Jack Daniels, and honey ice cream together into an boozy milkshake. The thick and velvety texture melted on the tongue with nuttiness from the Frangelico and caramel sweetness from the Jack Daniels and honey ice cream.

We ultimately came to Liguria for the Fried Fish Sandwich, a legendary creation that is a favorite amongst the locals. When the sandwich landed in front of us, we could see why. This thick boy came with two pieces of fried fish, tomato, onion, lettuce and thinly sliced spicy green peppers with mayo and a tomato spread on the side.

The Fish Sandwich At Liguria

An OMG moment for sure. The crust shattered with a satisfying crunch with wonderful herby aromatics rushing forward with hints of oregano and parsley. Steam poured out of the sandwich, showing off that fresh out of the fryer quality. I literally lifted my hands in the air in amazement because I couldn’t believe how delicious this sandwich tasted.

One of the best sandwiches of all time. Seriously. And this ain’t the cocktails talking either.

Everything about this sandwich fits perfectly and I couldn’t think of a single thing to make it better. The mayo added a nice creaminess with the tomato spread adding more acid. The thin light green peppers gave a spike of heat here and there, with all components working in harmony together.

With the caliber of cocktails and food, no wonder Chileans consider Liguria one of the best restaurants in Santiago, Chile.

5. Confiteria Torres – Best Barros Luco and Chacarero Sandwich In Santiago

The Barro Luco Sandwich At Confiteria Torres

The oldest restaurant in Chile, Confiteria Torres serves up some of Santiago’s favorite dishes. The beloved Barros Luco sandwich was created here when the Chilean president Ramon Barros Luco would regularly order a sandwich combining melty cheese with thin slices of cooked steak, giving the sandwich its quintessential name.

That’s why I am here! I love sandwiches and the Barros Luco at Confiteria Torres takes one of the top spots on my list of all time favorites. The cheese oozing from this sandwich deserves a prestigious award for food awesomeness. Come on! Just look at it!

The Barro Luco Sandwich At Confiteria Torres

Oh, the flavors were on point with a slice of filet steak pounded thin and seared on a well seasoned flat top griddle giving the steak a distinctive caramelized quality. The beautifully melted cheese tasted delicious but stayed mild to enhance the steak without overpowering it, and everything came together on a Maraquetta bread that’s made in house.

It took every ounce of willpower not to suck this sandwich down in three bites. So simple yet so delicious, I LOVED every part of the sandwich and I regret not getting a second.

The Chacarero Sandwich At Confiteria Torres

My wife ordered the Chacarero, a popular Chilean sandwich made with steak, green beans, green peppers, and tomato. Green beans on a sandwich? GENIUS! The sandwich is made with the same seared filet as the Barros Luco, so it still had all those great steak flavors.

The green beans added more body and substance with a vegetable forward stance that worked really well. By far, this was my wife’s favorite sandwich of all time. You heard it. FAVORITE SANDWICH EVER.

6. Chipe Libre – Best Restaurant In Santiago For Pisco Sours

Red Wine, Pisco Sour, And Salad At Chipe Libre

If you want to dine well and suck down the infamous Pisco Sour, look no further than Chipe Libre. Pisco is a brandy that grew famous amongst the mountainous regions of Chile and Peru, making its way through every part of both countries.

I decided to visit Chipe Libre for lunch and chose their lunch special which came with a starter, main, pisco sour, and a glass of wine for about $13 USD. Although I was hoping for a more traditional Chilean cuisine, the food and drinks were still top notch.

I started off with a basic salad with a few boiled shrimp thrown into the mix. Nothing special but delicious all the same. I sipped on my wonderful pisco sour which tasted slightly sweet with the pisco adding enough punch to round out the flavors.

Roast Pork At Chipe Libre

The main course was roasted pork glazed in a slightly sweet pineapple Asian style sauce and topped with toasted sesame seeds served with a side of rice.

The pork was wonderfully roasted remaining tender and juicy throughout, but the sauce really brought the whole dish together. Each bite rang with a tangy sweetness that mingled nicely with the natural taste of the pork. With scoops of rice between mouthfuls of pork, I understand the talent behind the cooks at Chipe Libre.

Although this wasn’t a Chilean meal, I confidently believe that any food coming from that kitchen will taste spectacular.

7. Fuente Mardoqueo – Huge Sandwiches In Santiago

Inside Fuente Mardoqueo

Visting Fuente Mardoqueo felt like walking into an antique shop with vintage clocks, old school typewriters, and ancient sewing machines lining the walls. If you aren’t interested in the food, at least come for the decor and snap a few shots for that Instagram.

For this sandwich shop my wife tried another Chacarrero and I decided on the Churrasco topped Italiano style with smashed avocados, diced tomatoes, and mayo.

Churrascos come many different ways but a plain sandwich is purely thin slices of steak cooked on a plancha (flat top grill) giving it a nice caramelized sear and placed on a hefty bun.

When making my initial order, I noticed they offered two sizes, original and chico (small). My appetite was far from small, so I thought the original would fit just fine, with my wife following the same logic.

The Chacarero And Churrasco Italiano At Fuente Mardoqueo

Two behemoth sandwiches came to the table and we couldn’t help but laugh at the size. One sandwich was easily enough for both of us.

My Churrasco Italiano tasted like an artesian steak sandwich you’d find at a brunch joint in Manhattan. The steak was nicely seared with some pieces still pink in the center.

The plancha added that signature caramelization that brought out the full flavors of the beef. With all the toppings, I enjoyed every single bite, fighting my way to the very end.

The Chacarrero was delicious, but our favorite was still at Confiteria Torres.

8. Beasty Butchers – Best Burger In Santiago

Bone Marrow Fries At Beast Butchers

A burger joint on flavor steroids, Beasty Butchers is a must try restaurant in Santiago. With hanging neon signs and hot pink accents, Beasty Butcher makes a statement as a hip and trendy spot that stays true to the necessities of delicious food by focusing on BIG FLAVORS.

The Medula, Bone Marrow French Fries, was a spectacle of pure beauty. A roasted bone filled with decadent marrow and topped with a crust of chimichurri lay on a bed of crispy french fries. Oh my goodness.

Without a doubt, bone marrow remains one of my favorite foods of all time, and something I consider to be a gateway to food obsession. I understand how bone marrow may appear strange to some, but think of it as butter with a hint of unctuous beefy flavor.

Royale With Cheese At Beasty Butchers

These fries made a bold statement with the chimichurri creating a herby contrast to the bone marrow, putting the fries over the top. I, unfortunately, spooned through the bone marrow too quickly leaving me with a pile of basic fries. Next time, I’ll order an extra bone.

The Royale With Cheese became my instant favorite with a juicy burger patty topped with American cheese, pickles, onion, ketchup, mustard, and their signature Beasty Sauce. I call this a classic burger, avoiding pretentious toppings and sticking with the basics. With a cascade of burger juice flowing down the edges of my cheeks, I finished off the burger leaving only a sauce filled smile.

9. Chachan – Go For The Kimchi Fries

Crispy Korean Sandwich At Chachan

Despite burgers and fries comprising most of the menu at Chachan, this is no mere burger stand my friends. They dish out ultra crunchy cornflake crusted chicken sandwiches and burgers so juicy an unwarned eater may accidentally turn their shirt into the next Jackson Pollock.

We tried the Crispy Korean Chicken Sandwich and the Simple Bacon Onion Burger, with both earning their stripes for exceptional flavors, but the star of the show really came from the starter.

Kimchi Fries At Chachan

Listen to me: KIMCHI FRIES! YOU MUST EAT KIMCHI FRIES! Crispy fries came topped with slices of sweet fried pork, a gochujang cream sauce, garlic aioli, chives, and some of the best kimchi I tried outside of Seoul.

Sweet, spicy, tangy, and rich, these French fries impressed with palate enriching flavor combos that any Korean would easily gobble down with an ice cold Kloud beer and shots of pineapple soju.

The French fries bounced between the garlicky goodness and the tingling spice of the gochuchang sauce. The kimchi acted surprisingly well, giving a vinegary bite that offset the other strong flavors. With bites of crispy pork sprinkled throughout, you have a harmonious dish with a completely unique profile. I absolutely loved it.

10. New Horizon – Best Cheap Lunch In Santiago, Chile

Chicken Masala And Garlic Tawa Paratha At New Horizon

For a perfectly cheap lunch, I can find no place better than New Horizon, a tiny five table Indian restaurant in Belles Artes. If you want to eat here, you better get in line, because people are willing to wait for a taste of their delicious curries.

What’s better than the food is the price, with a daily lunch special that runs about $7USD for a chicken curry, salad, flatbread, and a drink.

I went with a Chicken Masala and a Garlic Tawa Paratha. Satisfying and delicious this chicken masala hit all those flavor notes I craved all day. The best part of the meal came from dipping that paratha into the masala sauce and enjoying the mixture of sharp spices with garlicky goodness. Although this isn’t the best curry in the world, it tasted awesome for the price and I would gladly return again for a cheap lunch in Santiago.

11. Holy Moly- Best Restaurant in Santiago For Fried Chicken Sandwiches

Korean Chicken Burger At Holy Moly

Although Holy Moly focuses on classic cheeseburgers, their fried chicken sandwiches satisfied my soul in a way that very few foods can do.

I ordered the Korean Chicken Burger which is a fried chicken thigh topped with a Korean style sauce, American cheese, coleslaw, pickles, and mayo on a nicely toasted bun. The textures of the sandwich worked overtime with the coleslaw, fried chicken, and pickles each giving different levels of satisfying crunch. The chicken itself impressed me with a deep richness that only comes from a properly fried chicken thigh.

The whole sandwich became oddly addictive from the sauce mixing into all the other components. The sweet and spicy Korean sauce bounced the heavy hitting flavors of the coleslaw and fried chicken to constantly hit my tastebuds with nothing but delicious goodness.

12. Hao Hwa Restaurant – Something For Everyone Asian Restaurant

Garlic Chicken At Hao Hwa

Hao Hwa Restaurant served up some of my favorite Asian food in South America, specializing in Chinese, Japanese, and Thai cuisines.

I ordered the Garlic Chicken that satisfied my protein cravings with super tender slices of chicken breast in a garlic soy sauce. Nothing fancy but the kitchen prepared the dish with expertise using the right amount of sauce and keeping the chicken juicy and tender.

Pineapple Fried Rice At Hao Hwa

The Pineapple Fried Rice took the spotlight with shrimp, rice, and vegetables all sitting in a hollowed out pineapple. I know pineapple fried rice sounds like a gimmicky tourist dish, but it’s a beloved favorite of Thailand eaten by locals and tourists alike.

The shrimp tasted sweet and well seasoned with a perfectly soft texture. Pineapple brings the whole dish together with a bright sweet acidity that compliments the shrimp and adds an important contrast to the salty soy sauce used in the whole dish.

I enjoyed the rice’s distinct caramelized taste that only comes from a well seasoned wok. I could eat this pineapple fried rice again and again, providing a nice change up from the usual Chilean fare.

Best Restaurants For Dinner In Santiago Chile

Dinner in Santiago can mean an elegant multicourse meal or power fueling before an epic night out at the bars. Either way, the best restaurants in Santiago, Chile have you covered with amazing eats for every budget.

13. Silvestre Bistró – Best Restaurant For Constant Variety

Fried Cauliflower Croquettes At Silvestre Bistro

A true hidden gem in the Barrio Italia neighborhood, Silvestre Bistro serves up creative dishes with a new menu created daily. Depending on the season and availability, the cuisine stays flexible, pulling influences from every type of culinary tradition to make unforgettable meals.

I love everything about this restaurant with the decor reminding me of an antique shop crossed with the eclectic apartment from the sitcom Friends. You know, a hodgepodge of items with different sizes and colors but somehow it all works together. The same mentality shines through the cuisine where peculiar food pairings create unbelievable dishes.

Let’s talk about the starter. Fried Cauliflower Croquettes mimicked a falafel with bold spices reflecting middle eastern style flavors. Biting into one of these radiated delicate aromas with a beautiful crunch, making goosebumps prickle across my arms.

Pickled onion and thinly sliced cucumber and beets added fresh notes all coming together with a red pepper sauce and couscous. One of my favorite dishes I tried all year.

Stewed Lamb At Silvestre Bistro

For a main, I decided on Stewed Lamb served with white rice topped with nuts and seeds. The lamb broke apart under my fork, a sure sign of hours simmering away at low temperatures.

The first bites awakened my taste buds with a condensed lamby twang thrusted forward by the aromatic spices of cardamom, allspice, and cumin. Delicious. The white rice helped balance out the power with a few hints of texture from the seed and nut mix.

Every bite revealed a new characteristic that I failed to notice earlier like watching a riveting mystery with Sherlock Holmes who slowly reveals overlooked clues. The meal progressed with my taste buds submitting to the dominating, yet balanced flavors of the lamb stew leaving me completely amazed by the wonderful meal.

14. Casa Luz – BEST Restaurant In Santiago, Chile – My Favorite!

Burrata At Casa Luz

From the first look at the menu, I was a bit confused about Casa Luz and what type of food they prepare. DELICIOUS food. That’s their theme. Delicious, amazing and superb dishes that rank as some of the best I tasted in South America.

They offer tapas and main courses, so my wife and I decided on a little bit of both. A cold tapa sounded great, so we went with the Burrata Italia which featured a luscious orb of burrata sitting on a bed of basil pesto paired with cherry tomatoes, serrano ham, dried figs, and crushed pecans.

Are you drooling yet? The pesto really became the star of the dish adding an herby contrast that stayed mellow with all the components. Oh, and the serrano ham was a genius move adding umami and salty bites to the mix. Every ingredient played an important role that added new flavor and texture components. Bravo!

Langostinos al Hierro At Casa Luz

The Langostinos al Hierro made my list of absolute favorite dishes of all time. The little details mattered here because they peeled the shrimp but still left the heads. Why? So you can suck the delicious shrimp juice straight from the head. Yes, you better suck the shrimp head.

These shrimp came perfectly cooked with a delicate soft texture that highlighted the natural sweetness. The sauce tasted sublime with a light seafood profile that maintained its presence amongst the heavy garlic.

With the juice from the head, the garlicky sauce, and the perfect shrimp, this truly was a perfect dish. I mopped up the rest of the sauce with some toasted focaccia and stopped short of licking the iron skillet clean.

Lomo Vetado And Papas Bravas At Casa Luz

Then came the Lomo Vetado, a steak cut from free range beef, cooked over wood charcoal and topped with herb butter. The steak tasted superb with the butter adding a nice creaminess. Each bite of steak practically burst with juice like a beef flavored Gushers snack.

Paired with the Papas Bravas, fried potatoes with house made sauce and drizzled with aioli, the steak only tasted better with the occasional bite of potato with its tangy red pepper sauce.

Absolutely wonderful, Casa Luz definitely makes my list of best restaurants in Santiago, Chile for amazing flavors and creative execution.

15. El Txoko Alavés Basque – Best Spanish Restaurant In Santiago, Chile

Spanish Tortilla At El Txoko Alaves

El Txoko Alaves celebrates the flavors of Spanish Basque cuisine, bringing unforgettable food traditions to Santiago. The dark wood interior and marble bar features a unique style only seen in Spain.

We started off with the Spanish Tortilla, a mixture of lightly cooked eggs, soft chunks of potato, and onion all cooked in a pan until everything came together. The tortilla tasted as it should with eggs cooked just enough to hold its shape with the middle still slightly runny. Eaten with chunks of potatoes and onions, this omelet truly brings a Spanish flare.

The Short Ribs At El Txoko Alaves

For the mains, Tiarra ordered a Ribeye steak which was delicious, but my stewed beef short ribs took home first prize. The Short Ribs were braised for hours with a boatload of veggies resulting in fall off the bone ribs infused with veggie stock.

Some residual braising liquid sat at the bottom of the plate acting as a dipping sauce for the ribs and the French fries. Each bite encompassed a beefy goodness that lingered on the tongue satisfying my need for a deep flavor. I enjoyed every scrap of meat leaving only the bones and a few soggy French fries behind.

16. Aligot Restaurant – Best French Restaurant In Santiago, Chile

Red Wine At Aligot Restaurant

For a little escape from Chilean cuisine, I wanted something decadent, so we visited Aligot Restaurant which showcases a wide range of classic French dishes with a surprisingly cheap wine list. Yes, please!

For the best bang for our buck, we went with the Menu Aligot which gave the option of a soup or salad to start, an entree, one side, and coffee or tea to finish for around 20 USD.

We tried the soup and salad with each having a few surprising qualities. The salad was well dressed with a hint of blue cheese, and the butternut squash soup tasted rich without being heavy making the perfect vessel for dipping our sliced baguette.

Filet De Res At Aligot Restaurant

Both entrees came plated picture perfect with my wife choosing the Filet De Res, a medium rare pan seared beef filet topped with a rich sauce.

Talk about a perfect filet! The preparation was spot on with a filet so tender, my fork alone cut the slices in half. The sauce coated each piece of meat adding more beefy goodness, leaving a slight tickle on the tongue from the freshly cracked black pepper.

Boeuf Bourguignon at Aligot Restaurant

I wanted the Boeuf Bourguignon, a stew made with seared beef and plenty of red wine. The beef chunks fell apart under my fork but still maintained enough integrity to be properly appreciated. The sauce tasted well crafted, giving the whole dish a decadent warmth that satisfied every taste bud.

I definitely tasted the red wine which is important for a boeuf bourguignon, bringing the characteristics of the beef and the wine together for a power packed combo. I made sure to order more bread to mop up all the delicious sauce.

The Aligot Mashed Potatoes At Aligot Restaurant

For both of our sides, we went with the Aligot, a super cheesy mashed potato dish that needs a fork and knife to properly eat. Dipping in my fork and pulling off a bite required me to twirl the stringy potatoes like spaghetti eventually calling in my knife to sever the cord.

Unbelievably delicious. The mashed potatoes tasted like a velvety potato purée mixed with white cheddar and mozzarella. No, they didn’t actually use these cheeses, but it’s the best comparison. Just order the Aligot and you won’t be disappointed.

Best Santiago Restaurants For Dessert

Of course, I can’t forget dessert! These best restaurants in Santiago, Chile offer sweet pleasures that are worth the trip and will satisfy any sweet tooth.

17. Cafe Monstrum – Korean Shaved Ice and Japanese Honey Toast

Strawberry Snow At Cafe Monstrum

I’m always on the hunt for unique desserts and Cafe Monstrum totally surprised me with sweet treats that are usually found on the other side of the world, Bingsu and Honey Toast.

Bingsu originates from South Korea and takes a milky shaved ice and combines them with other ingredients from soybean powder to fresh fruit. Honey Toast is usually found in Japan with thick slabs of bread lightly toasted and topped with a combination of sweet ingredients.

We tried the Strawberry Snow (Bingsu) which tasted just like the real deal from Seoul with creamy snow melting into perfectly ripe strawberries. Sweet and creamy, the Strawberry Snow satisfied our craving while still refreshing the palate.

Honey Butter Bread At Cafe Monstrum

I also needed to try their Honey Butter Bread (Honey Toast) which came with a thick cut piece of toast topped with butter, honey caramel sauce, ice cream, whipped cream, and sliced almonds. The textures and flavors shot me straight to Tokyo like I was eating honey toast for the first time.

The honey caramel and butter seeped into the crevices of the bread softening the texture and infusing each crumb with an amazing sweetness. Combined with the ice cream and whipped cream, this whole dessert remained light, empowering me to finish the whole thing.

18. Patagonia Schokoland – House Made Chocolate Desserts

Brownies With Ice Cream At Patagonia Schokoland

I’m a dark chocolate lover, so we flocked to Patagonia Schokoland to chow down on their expert desserts crafted from their house made chocolate.

My cravings took me to their Brownies With Ice cream which came with a chocolate and blonde brownie with slices of strawberry and banana with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Deceptively simple, this dessert brought refinement to the casual brownie sundaes I grew up eating at the local Applebees.

The warm brownies played off each other’s strengths with dark cocoa and butter bouncing between bitter and creamy with sweet outbursts from the strawberries, bananas, and ice cream

Hot Chocolate At Patagonia Schokoland

For even more rich chocolate, we ordered a cup of their rich Hot Chocolate, which tasted like a wonderfully melted dark chocolate bar in a cup. Warning: for dark chocolate lovers only. Although I really enjoyed the deep flavors, my wife was less fond of the bitter notes.

For me, I could’ve sipped on that chocolate all day with an occasional dip from a butter cookie and paired it with a nice latte.

19. Brussels Heart of Chocolate – Best Chocolate Desserts In Santiago

Waffle Banana Split At Brussels Heart of Chocolate

For the ultimate chocolate and dessert experience, I found paradise! Brussels Heart of Chocolate celebrates everything chocolate, giving everyone in Santiago the opportunity to indulge in their chocolatey passions.

After eating at Aligot, we desperately needed a sweet fix, so we went with the Waffle Banana Split which places a toffee cooked banana on a crispy waffle with a side of melted milk chocolate. Sweet, sticky, and perfect, the banana split waffle hit all the delicious checkboxes.

The crispy waffle is soaked in the toffee and chocolate sauce, creating a crunchy waffle that easily gives way to a fountain of flavor with each bite.

The Montana Milkshake At Brussels Heart of Chocolate

I needed something to wash it all down, so got the Montana Milkshake, a classic chocolate milkshake with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. Yes, it sounds basic but somehow, they transformed the ordinary chocolate milkshake into a refreshing and addicting beverage.

The key was adding more chocolate without adding more sugar, so the richness of the chocolate remained without being overly sweet. Absolutely Wonderful.

20. ÓBOLO Chocolate – Chocolate Drinks

The Nitro Cacao At Óbolo Chocolate

When exploring Barrio Italia one day, my wife and I saw a sign for a Nitro Cacao chocolate drink. Well, that’s a first! Pure curiosity pulled us into Óbolo Chocolate, a local chocolate producer importing beans from around South America to create delectable chocolate bars.

But, we were here for the nitro and the nitro we shall drink! We order the Nitro Cacao with milk and an Ice Mochachino which combined their cacao cold brew with a shot of espresso.

The Nitro Cacao slowly poured into the cup with a creamy layer of foam coating the top. Looking like a straight up pint of Guinness, the top slowly cascaded through the cup turning the drink into a marvelous wonder. After staring at the drink for over a minute, we took our first sips.

Bitter, slightly sweet, and captivated by the depths of chocolate, I loved this clever concoction. Imagine drinking a dark chocolate bar, melted down and mixed with milk, and chilled to perfection. Yup, it’s like that. The nitro put the whole drink over the top by adding a smooth velvety texture that complimented all aspects of the drink.

This drink is completely unique and something I’ve yet to see anywhere else in the world.
