ABOUT

My name is Chris and I travel for food.

It all started at La Bouqeria Market in Barcelona, Spain. Eating a dish of sautéed wild mushrooms, foie gras topped with an olive oil fried egg. Despite its intimidating appearance, the flavors blew me away. My love for food began at this moment.

I believe travel unlocks limitless possibilities to understanding ourselves and the people around us. Food is the best way to share and experience another person’s culture. Here at Nomadic Foodist, I will help you understand the world through food.

My mission is to motivate travelers, like you, to step out of their comfort zone and travel the world in search of new foods. Everyone’s dream trip is within reach and I can help you plan, book, eat your way around the world.

Check the travel articles section, which recaps my experiences in other cities. You can find details about restaurants, travel tips and the best attractions to visit.

The Nomadic Foodist Show is a podcast where I speak with foodists and travelers about their favorite travel destinations and must try foods. These guests give their insights and travel tips that hopefully motivate you to book your next travel ticket.

What is a foodist? Think of someone who takes their food a little more seriously than most. They travel thousands of miles to eat at one small restaurant or stand in line for hours to try a legendary dish. Are you a foodie or a foodist? Check out more here.

If you are serious about food and are willing to travel to experience the very best this world has to offer, then Nomadic Foodist is your new resource to make your next trip unforgettable.

Although Barcelona was my first international trip as an adult, my passion for travel slowly grew from the age of eight, but not on family vacations or trips with friends, but with karate tournaments. That’s right. I enjoyed being on road trips bouncing from city to city just as much I enjoyed competing.

As a teen, I was active in my church youth group and looked forward to our annual summer trips attending retreats, conferences, and camps. At this point in my life, I enjoyed the freedoms that the limited travel offered and realized I wanted more.

Fast forward to my early twenties, I jetted off to Barcelona, Spain where the travel bug bit me hard without a known cure in sight. I fell in love with food and realized this is why I travel. Behind every dish is a culture rich in history, tradition, and discipline that I can start to understand with the first bite.

Years later, I met my beautiful wife, we married, and now we’ve focused our lives trying to experience the world through culinary adventures. From backpacking in Asia to road-tripping across the United States, I was able to chow down on some of the best food this world has to offer.

I hope you enjoy all that Nomadic Foodist has to offer.

Remember, eat with an adventurous heart no matter where you go.
